2010 Woods Family Reunion

Hello Moms, Dads, Sisters, Brothers, Cousins, Aunts, and Uncles! With our reunion coming up, I thought it would be fun to think of some games for us all to play. I am wondering if you all are interested. Here are some ideas...

For the kids (and the young at heart)...

1. Sack race
2. Three-legged race
3. Capture the flag
4. Kick the can
5. Fruit basket (sort of like musical chairs only you stand and it has to do with fruit)
6. Horse shoes
7. Bocce ball
8. Wet sponge relay race (teams race to fill up a bowl with water using only a wet sponge)
9. Hula hoop contest

And we could have little prizes from the dollar store.

For everyone...

1. Share family stories with a game of "Heirloom Show and Tell." Ask everyone to bring a family heirloom. Have everyone tell the story that goes with the special heirloom. This game is a great way to remember the past.

2. Play family scavenger hunt by typing a list of traits that each person needs to find. For example, find someone with green eyes, someone that sleeps with a teddy bear or someone that has kids. You can't use the same person on your list more than once. This game forces people to learn something new about a family member.

3. Have each family member write something interesting about themselves on a slip of paper and put it in a bucket. Draw out a slip, read it and have everyone guess who wrote it. An example is "I can put both of my feet behind my head." They can write anything that distinguishes them.

4. Have each branch of the family tree wear a certain color. For instance, Aunt Deanie's family could all wear red ('cause they are the Cherry family).

What do you think? Anyone else have any ideas? What about a craft?
